Over the past decades, the worldwide marketing industry has experienced a massive transformation. Older methods such as printing ads and attempting en-masse physical outreach have seemingly faded into obscurity. These methods have since been replaced with endless marketing opportunities made possible by global digitalization.
According to a survey conducted by McKinsey, 83% of international CEOs say they “look to marketing to be a major driver for most or all of a company’s growth agenda.” To this point, digital marketing strategies have subsequently become a cornerstone of contemporary business operations. Leveraging modern technology is not enough, however, as a human touch is necessary to stand out from the crowd and authentically resonate with the public.
When Stephanie Shojaee took the reins of Miami-based real estate development powerhouse Shoma Group‘s marketing division as the Chief Marketing Officer in 2013, everything changed for the firm. Now, as the President of Shoma Group, Shojaee oversees marketing, branding, sales operations, and communications strategies for each of the projects that make up Shoma Group’s diverse portfolio. This impressive portfolio consists of more than 10,000 homes and condominiums as well as more than one million square feet of retail and office space. Shoma Group’s portfolio boasts over $5 billion in completed real estate transactions.
After taking over as CMO, Shojaee leveraged her marketing knowledge to help modernize the already impressive Shoma Group’s business through new technology and digital-first marketing strategies. Under Shojaee’s guidance, Shoma Group was able to appeal to a younger demographic with thought-provoking ads, striking graphic design content, and a stronger social media presence. Not only is Shojaee disrupting the industry with her innovative marketing tactics, but she is also disrupting the industry with her commitment to gender equality and equity. Shojaee has been increasing profits for the firm with the group’s first-ever all-female-led marketing team ever since taking over.
While Shojaee’s clear prowess in marketing and real estate has positioned the Shoma Group President as a behemoth in property development, the multi-faceted real estate visionary has similarly gained renown as one of the world’s premier tastemakers on social media. With more than 440,000 followers on Instagram, Shojaee inspires entrepreneurs and women around the world by sharing her regimented daily routine. Shojaee begins at 5 a.m with a trip to the gym and then a glam session before reaching the Shoma Office by 7 A.M. Shojaee also shares various aspects of her personal life like sitting front row at many major fashion shows, such as Hermes, Christian Dior, and Chanel. Of course, Shojaee often posts her unique style and personal collection of designer items. As deserved, Shojaee was honored by Rolls-Royce as a Phantom Phenom, an award only given to ten women in the United States who embody the bold spirit of Rolls-Royce. Shojaee was venerated due to her status as a public figure, business acumen, marketing skills, and service to the community, as well as the prestigious women award from South Florida Business and Wealth.
Shojaee recalls, “They [Rolls Royce] were looking for someone from the next generation who would embody the brand and perfectly fit their campaign vision. I had no idea that Rolls-Royce was looking for female ambassadors. One day I was sitting in the office and got a phone call and was told that I had been selected as an Ambassador. It was surreal! I feel very honored. The campaign focused on women’s empowerment and was a great success,” explained Shojaee. “I still remember the Rolls Royce letter that read, “Stephanie, much like a Phantom, you have a commanding presence and you never stay in one lane,”’ said Shojaee.
As Shojaee continues to lead Shoma Group, alongside her husband, CEO and Chairman of the board Masoud Shojaee, into the future with modern marketing tactics and exciting new projects, we expect the trailblazing executive to continue disrupting digital marketing and South Florida real estate.
