The NBA season is over 2/3’s complete as we head into March. Most teams have around 25 games remaining and the playoff races are heating up. A few teams have emerged as serious contenders to win the NBA Title this year.
Below I will look at the five teams that have emerged as the serious championship contenders according to the betting odds of a popular online sportsbook. If you are interested in betting on the NBA Championship or other sports/events you should check out SportsBetListings.com. They have a wide variety of tutorials outlining how to bet on different sports/events from different areas of the country, including how to bet on the NBA Championship in the US.
Boston Celtics +220
The Celtics are the defending NBA champs. They absolutely dominated the opposition in last years NBA Playoffs going 16-3 in the playoffs to win the title. The Celtics have kept their championship team together and many fans/critics think we could be in the middle of a Celtics dynasty. Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Kristaps Porzingis, Derrick White, and Jrue Holiday are just some of the names that make this team a repeat title contender.
Oklahoma City Thunder +230
OKC is leading the Western Conference with a 46-11 record this season. They have arguably the best player in the league in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and have a young roster that continues to improve with Shai, Isaiah Hartenstein, Luguentz Dort, Chet Holmgren, Aaron Wiggins, Cason Wallace and Jalen Williams (OKC’s 7 highest minutes players) all 26 or under. If this team continues to get better, they could be scary in the playoffs this year.
Cleveland Cavaliers +650
The Cavaliers are leading the Eastern Conference with a 47-10 record. The Cavs are showing no signs of slowing down and look like the real deal this year. Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, and Evan Mobley are all having All-Star caliber years and the team has a lot of depth as well. It will be interesting to see how they can matchup with the Celtics if it comes down to a Boston vs Cleveland Eastern Conference Finals.
Los Angeles Lakers +900
The Lakers just made the trade of the century brining in Luka Doncic for far less than most critics believe he is worth. Doncic just brought the Dallas Mavericks to the NBA Championship last year, but for some reason the team wanted to get rid of him. The Mavs loss in the Lakers gain, and this addition may give the Lebron James lead Lakers a legitimate chance to come out of the Western Conference in these playoffs.
Denver Nuggets +1200
Do not count out to Denver Nuggets. Nikola Jokic is the 3-time NBA MVP for a reason and if this team is healthy heading into the playoffs, they can beat anyone. The Nuggets are having a solid season currently sitting in 2nd in the Western Conference. Jamal Murray, who is key to their success, is playing well, and the team has added some pieces that should help in the playoffs. Denver won the NBA title just two years ago, and the team is still much the same. If they can play their best in the playoffs the Nuggets have a great chance to make a deep run.
