LiBria Stephens brings experience, confidence, and compassion to the race for Clerk of Superior Court. As a wife of 23 years, breast cancer survivor and mother who raised her son in Durham, Stephens exhibits grace, perseverance, and a level head in any situation. Stephens, a graduate from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and North Carolina Central University School of Law, has over 13 years of experience practicing law in Durham and the surrounding counties. Many of her areas of practice fall under the jurisdiction of the Clerk of Superior Court. Stephens has supervision, administrative, and policy experience gained as a volunteer in her community, the owner and operator of her law firm and as Durham’s former Trial Court Coordinator. During her 28 years of living in Durham, Stephens has established a foundation of leadership, integrity, and collaboration. She has served in the Clerk’s Office for which she is seeking office, and currently serves as a Jury Commissioner of Durham. Also, she has volunteered in Durham’s District Attorney’s Office, and the Office of the Public Defender. Stephens will bring an abundance of skills and efficiency to the judicial system and to the position of Clerk of Superior Court. Most importantly, LiBria Stephens brings forth a love and understanding of the Durham community, gained from building her life, family and business in Durham, North Carolina.
