Our body is our temple. And the skin is its varnish. With time and age, it begins to break, peel and crack. And that is ok. It is as nature intended. And although science is pushing the boundaries of what we consider natural, it’s safe to say that our skin begins to show signs of change with time. While this is acceptable, there’s something that’s not. Products with chemicals, which can and often do prove harmful for the skin, in the long run, have sat for too long on store shelves and dressing tables. The time has come to push them over and make room for something more organic, which agrees more with our skin. For Kaitlin Polk, the founder of Naru Organics, it started with a self-tanner. She has created an organic self-tanner that puts chemical tanners to shame. Here’s her story.
Kaitlin has always been serious about skin maintenance, but her passion for clean organic skincare began in 2014. In fact, she used to live down the street from a nutrition store that carried natural personal care and beauty products, and she became obsessed with learning about their organic products. Talking about her experience, she says, “That nutrition store ignited my passion for learning everything I could about using natural and clean products. I remember going from store to store to look for a natural self-tanner but was shocked to find none. I was forced to continue using my conventional self-tanner until I started to develop red rashes all over my neck and arms. That did it. I decided to make myself a tanner if the stores were not giving me one. That was the start of it all.”
The start created an avalanche of new beginnings for Kaitlin. She had no experience in the field whatsoever, and the only thing she could rely on was her determination to create a completely organic, healthy, and clean self-tanner. Talking about her brand Naru Organics’ self-tanner, she says, “Naru Organics tanner is made up of distilled water, Aloe Vera, Vegetable Glycerin, Sweet Almond Oil, Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, to name a few. And I am proud to say it’s toxin-free and a woman’s new best friend.”
Naru Organics is poised to take self-tanners to the next level and help women care better for their skins.
