Yoga has been exploding in popularity across the United States in recent years. Yoga studios seem to be popping up left and right. With such an abundance of choice, it can be hard to know where to turn or who to trust. Like most things though, the best way to measure legitimacy is by looking at a track record.
And there are few yogis with as legitimate a track record as Dr. Ari Beers. Raving testimonials are only part of the draw. Dr. Beers has a Ph.D. in integrated medicine and over twelve years experience studying yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda abroad.
Formerly a fashion model, Dr. Beers had a less meditative beginning, but the death of her mother had her rethinking the things she valued in life and it was on a spiritual trip to India that greater meaning revealed itself to her. Dr. Beers, during a ritual Hare Krishna meditation session in India, came up with the idea to found the Anahata Conscious Living wellness tribe. Anahata literally means “heart” in Sanskrit; a symbol for what Dr. Beers believes is key to healing: listening to one’s heart.
Through Anahata Conscious Living Dr. Beers personally helps countless people recover from emotional, physical, and spiritual trauma. This yoga center goes above and beyond a traditional studio by both transforming peoples’ lives and by helping new teachers get certified with proper training. Anahata Conscious Living also hosts an annual women empowerment retreat where women are uplifted and connected to one another. In 2018 and 2019, Dr. Beers won awards for the best women’s retreat. I suspect she would have won in 2020 and 2021 as well, if the Covid-19 pandemic did not restrict such gatherings.
As Anahata Conscious Living prepares to resume their in-person retreats in 2022, there has never been a better time to reconnect with yourself than after the dissociative last couple of years. To see what Dr. Beers is currently up to, check anahataconsciousliving.com.
