Manuel Sanchez is a Colombian musician, producer, and audio engineer based in Los Angeles. He invites others to share in his journey and achievements, having contributed to over 100 shows and movies for renowned clients such as Netflix, Disney, Hulu, and Amazon. Some of the notable projects he has worked on include The Glory (Netflix TV series), Parasyte: The Grey (Netflix TV series), The Abyss (award-winning Netflix movie), Big Bet (award-winning Hulu/Disney show), and Sweet Home (award-winning Netflix show), among others. He has had the privilege of collaborating with industry-leading engineers, including 15-time Grammy award winner Gustavo Borner.
Born in Bogotá, Colombia, Manuel has been passionate about art and creativity from a young age. He began studying music at the age of 9. After completing school, he pursued music studies in Colombia but always dreamed of studying in the U.S., despite financial challenges. Determined to achieve this goal, he applied to Berklee College of Music—one of the top music schools in the world—and prepared for his audition with an original composition. In 2017, when Berklee held auditions in Colombia, he seized the opportunity, knowing that a scholarship was his only path forward. A few months later, he received a letter from Berklee awarding him a scholarship, a moment of disbelief and joy for him and his family.
Manuel’s journey continued when he arrived in Boston in the summer of 2018. He adapted to life on his own, learned English, and immersed himself in his studies, meeting incredible musicians and forming lifelong friendships. After learning from remarkable mentors and colleagues, he graduated in May 2021 and moved to Los Angeles.
In LA, Manuel worked at various studios and completed internships before eventually joining Igloo Music, a multi-Grammy award-winning studio, as an editor. There, he gained valuable experience and grew into the role of recording engineer, contributing to outstanding projects. Looking ahead, he is focused on further developing his skills as a full-time mixing engineer and music producer, with many exciting projects on the horizon.
