The inaugural Investing in the HEART of Our Community Gala brought together more than 120 clients, partners, and community members for an evening dedicated to supporting the Texas Children’s Heart Center, a nationally recognized leader in pediatric cardiovascular care.
Hosted by Mundorf Wealth Management at The Hidden Gem of Gruene, the event featured a cocktail reception, silent auction, dinner, and a series of presentations focused on philanthropy and healthcare impact. The gala successfully raised $27,000 to support life-saving treatment and research for children born with congenital heart defects, the most common birth defect in the United States.
The event carried deep personal meaning for Dustin Mundorf, founder of Mundorf Wealth Management, and his wife Meghan. Their son Duke was born in 2019 with multiple heart defects and spent nearly five months receiving care at the Texas Children’s Heart Center. That experience inspired the family’s ongoing commitment to give back, including a pledge to donate 10 percent of every financial planning fee to the Heart Center through the firm’s “Give with HEART” initiative.
Organizers emphasized that Mundorf Wealth Management’s philanthropic approach integrates charitable giving into broader financial planning, encouraging clients to align their long-term wealth management with causes that reflect their values and legacy goals.
The evening included remarks from representatives of Texas Children’s Hospital, as well as a state-of-the-market outlook delivered by leadership from Brookstone Capital Management. Speakers addressed both the impact of charitable support on pediatric healthcare and the broader economic environment shaping investment decisions.
Brookstone Capital Management served as the presenting sponsor alongside Mundorf Wealth Management and Hill Country Estate Planning. The silent auction featured high-profile and locally sourced items, with additional support from regional businesses, healthcare professionals, and community partners.
Following the success of the inaugural event, organizers announced plans to host the second annual Investing in the HEART Gala on December 4, 2026. Year-round donation opportunities will remain available for individuals and organizations seeking to support the mission of the Texas Children’s Heart Center.
Proceeds from the gala directly advance family-centered care, innovation, and research for children facing complex heart conditions, reinforcing the event’s central goal of investing not only in financial futures but also in the health and well-being of the community.
