From a young age, Kaiki Chan was fascinated by the process behind the final product of music, movies, and TV shows. While others enjoyed the result, he was captivated by the technical steps that transformed ideas into experiences. This curiosity led Kaiki to pursue a career in audio engineering, combining technical expertise with a passion for impactful storytelling.
A Passion for Sound and Technical Mastery
Kaiki’s journey began with a deep fascination for sound’s power to shape experiences. This interest evolved into a pursuit of sound engineering at Berklee College of Music, where he honed both artistic and technical skills. It was here that he realized a passion for using technology to enhance the emotional impact of sound, setting the stage for a career in the entertainment industry.
Resilience and Adaptability: Navigating Uncertainty
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Kaiki faced challenges, including remote work, but remained focused on growth. One key achievement was working as an audio engineer on Kelsey Kuan’s hit song “Summer Cologne,” which earned millions of streams and recognition across platforms. This experience reinforced Kaiki’s belief in sound’s ability to evoke deep emotional connections with audiences.
A Career Built on Mentorship and Precision
After graduating in 2021, Kaiki moved to Los Angeles to immerse himself in the industry. A breakthrough came when he joined Audio Mechanics, where he worked on high-profile audio restoration projects for clients like Disney, Sony, and the Library of Congress, under the mentorship of John Polito. These experiences sharpened his skills in precision audio production and reinforced his dedication to mastering the craft.
A Holistic Approach to Audio Engineering
Kaiki stands out for blending technical skill with artistic vision, ensuring that sound enhances every project, from music tracks to film audio and restoration. He focuses on precision and the emotional power of sound, believing that it is crucial to storytelling and audience engagement.
Looking Ahead: Shaping the Future of Sound
Excited by future opportunities, Kaiki looks forward to continuing collaborations with creators and audio professionals who share the vision of sound as both a technical and artistic discipline. With a commitment to precision, innovation, and the transformative power of audio, Kaiki aims to leave a lasting impact, elevating stories and engaging listeners through every project.
