For nearly a quarter of a century, Bryan Shuford Bey lived within the rigid confines of incarceration. It is an environment designed to restrict movement, silence imagination, and narrow the possibilities of a life. Yet even in the midst of those constraints, something within him refused to be quiet. Creativity, he says, became both a refuge and a rebellion. It was the one place where boundaries could not hold him, where the mind remained free even when the body was not.

Today, Bryan steps forward with Jeronamoe, his debut children’s book and the first published work of his creative journey. It is a milestone that represents far more than a literary accomplishment. It is the physical manifestation of years of internal work, discipline, and a commitment to honoring the values that shaped him long before incarceration. These are values he still carries with clarity and conviction: “Always Honor Thy Mother, Thy Father, and know Thyself.”

A Creative Life Interrupted, but Not Erased

Bryan’s story begins long before the pages of Jeronamoe. For 24 years, creativity was something he had to fight for. “Being incarcerated for 24 years has made it hard to be creative,” he reflects. “Boundaries and barriers arrive at every turn, but the mind knows no bounds.” In a place where routine is enforced, and imagination is often discouraged, Bryan learned to cultivate ideas quietly, storing them in memory, shaping them in thought, and protecting them from the erosion of time.

Those ideas waited patiently for the moment they could become something more.

The Honest Narrative: A Bridge Between Creation and Publication

Bryan had already created Jeronamoe years before its release. The story lived in his mind and on handwritten pages, fully imagined but without a way to reach readers. During his incarceration, publishing was not accessible, and the manuscript remained a private expression of creativity and hope.

That changed when Bryan connected with The Honest Narrative, an independent publishing imprint committed to narrative equity, creative restoration, and dignified storytelling. Through the guidance of founder Dr. Shanesha S. Scott, Bryan finally found the support and structure needed to bring his long‑held creation into the world.

“With the help of The Honest Narrative and Dr. Shanesha Scott,” he says, “my thoughts have been afforded the opportunity to leap from my mind and onto the pages of my first book, Jeronamoe.”

The Honest Narrative did not create the story for him. It created the pathway. Bryan brought the imagination, the characters, and the heart. The imprint provided the professional foundation that allowed his work to be published with care, integrity, and respect for his voice.

Introducing Jeronamoe: A Young Penguin With Courage at His Core

In a frozen kingdom where courage is measured not by size but by spirit, Jeronamoe introduces readers to a young penguin born under the moonlight, small in stature yet destined for greatness. As the son of the mighty Amabo and the compassionate Flotus, Jeronamoe must learn what it means to lead, to love, and to rise above fear when the very ice beneath his tribe begins to crumble.

Through friendship, loss, and discovery, Jeronamoe’s journey reveals that strength is not inherited. It is earned through heart, humility, and hope. Guided by his loyal friend Billy and the wisdom of his parents, he learns that even the smallest voice can echo across generations.

A story of resilience and belonging, Jeronamoe invites readers of all ages to believe in the power of purpose and to find light even in the coldest places.

A Legacy of Honor, Creativity, and Peace

Bryan’s journey is not defined by incarceration. It is defined by what remained intact despite it — his creativity, his values, and his steady commitment to peace.

“I leave as I came, in Peace,” he says. The statement reflects both his personal philosophy and the foundation of his creative work. Peace is not just a closing line for Bryan. It is the center of his identity and the core of his artistry.

Looking Ahead

As Bryan continues to build his catalog, his mission remains clear. He aims to create stories that uplift, inspire, and remind readers of the power of imagination. His work stands as proof that creativity can thrive even in the harshest conditions, and that storytelling can become a bridge between past and future, confinement and freedom, pain and purpose.

With Jeronamoe, Bryan Shuford Bey steps into the literary world with a message shaped by experience and strengthened by resilience: Peace at the center, creativity at the core.

Jeronamoe is now available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble
