HD Hyundai’s construction equipment division introduced a new lineup of advanced machinery at the global construction trade show CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026, unveiling nine next-generation excavator models designed to strengthen its presence in North America and other advanced markets.
The launch marks one of the company’s largest product rollouts in the region, with machines presented through its construction brands Hyundai Construction Equipment and DEVELON. The models are part of a broader push to combine artificial intelligence, automation, and new powertrain technologies in heavy construction machinery.
Nine New Excavators Target North American Demand
At the Las Vegas exhibition, the company showcased nine medium-to-large excavators ranging from 23 to 40 tons, including five Hyundai models and four Develon models.
The equipment was designed to meet the North American construction sector’s demand for higher power, durability, and stricter emissions compliance. New machines feature proprietary DX-series engines designed to improve fuel efficiency and overall performance.
Visitors at the show can explore a full lineup of equipment across large exhibition spaces, with Hyundai displaying more than 20 machines, including wheel loaders, articulated dump trucks, and compact construction equipment.
Autonomous Technology and AI Take Center Stage
A key highlight of the launch is the integration of Real-X, an advanced AI-driven autonomous construction system developed as the successor to the earlier Concept-X platform. The technology enables remote, unmanned operation of equipment, allowing machines to perform tasks such as digging and loading with minimal human intervention.
At the Develon booth, attendees can sit inside the cab of a next-generation excavator and observe live demonstrations of automated digging and smart safety features. Meanwhile, the Hyundai exhibit includes a remote-control experience that allows operators to run a wheel loader located roughly 3,000 kilometers away in real time.
Focus on Engines and Next-Generation Powertrains
Beyond equipment displays, the company also highlighted its internal engine development capabilities. A separate booth features a full lineup of industrial engines, including the DA11 micro engine and the DX05 and DX08 engines used in the new excavators.
HD Construction Equipment also showcased future-focused power solutions, including hydrogen engines and high-performance battery packs, signaling its intention to expand into cleaner, more advanced energy systems for heavy machinery.
Strategic Push Into Advanced Markets
The company views North America as a crucial growth region, as construction activity shows signs of recovery and demand for intelligent machinery rises. Executives say the new models aim to boost market share in regions where customers demand high standards in technology, safety, and performance.
With AI-driven automation, proprietary engines, and expanded product lines, HD Construction Equipment hopes the latest innovations will help position the company among the global leaders in heavy construction equipment.
The machines and technologies will remain on display throughout CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026, which runs in Las Vegas from March 3 to March 7.
