Latrell YT is by far one of the top artists who stands out among many other artists in the crowd. The way he moves, his intelligence in music, his sound, along with his business strategies is what gives him the upper hand against other new upcoming artists.
Have you ever been discouraged when taking the career path of making music? What was it like living in St.Louis?
“Sometimes it gets frustrating because certain cities support each other such as Georgia, New York, California, Texas, Florida, and a few other states. Those artists have talent and are comfortable in their own city and will work together, but it’s not like that where I’m from. See St.Louis is a city of envy. Nobody wants to see you make it, you will hear/see people cheering you on but really deep down they want what you have and that’s to be in your position. That’s not the only thing though, says “Latrell YT”. There’s a lot of song stealing, clout chasing, soul snatching (people dying) that goes on behind the scenes, because people in my city feel like if they can’t make it out then you’re not making it out either. Most people stay in the city to prove a point to everyone else that they ain’t gotta hide or move to another state to make it & they end up dying trying to prove to their opps that they ain’t scared of them. So I mean the smartest thing to do, man is when you get that buzz or you’re on fire where the whole city knows you and your music, GET OUT! If not you’ll be stuck here,” says the R&B Artist Latrell YT.
What should we expect from your new album that’s soon to be released this year?
“Well, my upcoming album will be based on true events. I will be talking about my opps (enemies), how it was for me growing up in a heartless city, there will be songs on the album explaining situations that I have dealt with in my relationships with women, and most of all my testimony! So this is most definitely an album that you’re going to want to stay plugged into.”
