Springfield, Massachusetts – Every October, Johanna Santiago, the owner of Aesthetik Artistry Studio, hosts her annual Pink Clinic Day. Santiago began this event to bring awareness to an option that many breast cancer survivors are unaware of – 3D Areola Reconstruction Paramedical Tattoos for people who have had mastectomies.
Santiago’s goal is to help folks who have dealt with breast cancer renew their confidence by giving them back what they lost. She uses highly specialized tattooing techniques, tools, and artistry to re-create the areolas and nipples while also camouflaging scarring around the surgical site.
Johanna Santiago founded Aesthetik Artistry Studio in Springfield, MA. She was fueled by the passion of helping folks feel their best through the art of tattooing. She brings over eight years of industry to her practice as an AAM board-certified cosmetic tattoo artist and an AAM Diamond Certified Trainer.
The Studio specializes in advanced paramedical services with a strong focus on quality, education, and client comfort. Johanna takes the time to educate her clients to ensure they are 100% comfortable and feel seen and heard. She works to build trust and friendship beyond the typical service-provider relationship.
The Pink Clinic event, held annually in October, provides people with an opportunity to explore their restorative options after breast cancer. For those who have not had a restorative tattoo and are unsure about committing to permanence, Johanna offers free temporary nipple tattoos from the start of the event through the end of the year. They can choose their preferred style, color, and size to experience a beautifully restored appearance.
Three lucky individuals will be selected for a free areola tattoo to restore their breasts’ natural appearance post-surgery. This highly specialized service is not well-known, as most tattoo artists cannot provide it. Santiago hopes the Pink Clinic event raises awareness of this beautiful option so more people can regain their confidence through the art of tattooing.
The event hits close to home for Santiago, who was inspired to help others after her mother’s breast cancer scare. She was determined to find ways to support her, and in her research, she stumbled upon information regarding paramedical tattooing. The idea of being able to help others going through the same experience as her mother drove her to become an expert in the field.
Santiago knew she wanted to help in any way she could. The work is so rewarding for Johanna and her clients, “I once had a client who went through several surgeries after her mastectomy. She was such an incredible person, but she couldn’t stand looking at her own reflection. When we finished her tattoo, we both cried tears of joy.”
Those wishing to partake in these free services can complete a registration form online. Santiago is accepting applications in September and will select three applicants for a free reconstructive service. Anyone who is chosen must have medical clearance from their doctors.
If you are interested in trying a free temporary areola tattoo, you can schedule a time to come in on any Friday from October through the end of December. It is applied in less than 5 minutes and gives you an excellent preview of a permanent tattoo.
Johanna Santiago is thrilled to be able to help as many people as possible. She says, “This event is about so much more than just tattoos. It’s about giving hope and helping people feel confident again. I want everyone to know there are options out there, and we’re here to support them.”
