It’s perhaps what makes this duo’s post collegiate career the most impressive. With the duo’s latest project, Tumbleweed, taking off faster than Daniel Tosh’s own recently started Tiktok, let’s take a look back at how this dynamic duo has navigated the diverse realms of content creation with remarkable success.

Omar Parker and Charlie Burt’s story began during their freshman year at Montana State University, where a shared love for filmmaking brought them together in a photo darkroom. Little did they know that this serendipitous encounter would mark the beginning of a prolific partnership that would take them from college honors graduates to influential figures in the film industry. During their college years, Parker and Burt crafted a cinematic legacy with numerous films that earned the coveted status of official selections at prestigious festivals like Cannes and Sundance. Their recent collaboration with producers Michael and Sonny Mahal has resulted in a string of successful films, including Death Count, Bridge of the Doomed, Night of the Tommyknockers, Bermuda Island, Camp Pleasant Lake, Devil Knight, and Arena Wars. This marks a significant shift towards the horror genre, part of a deliberate push into more commercial avenues. This foray into social media showcases their adaptability and willingness to explore new avenues for reaching audiences. The success of Tumbleweed on TikTok marks a significant milestone in their careers, emphasizing not only their storytelling prowess but also their ability to connect with a digitally savvy Gen Z audience, reaching funnier punchlines faster for a generation with high comedy expectations.

And according to the duo, that is intentional as they had wanted to focus on horror, a low budget genre with a big fanbase, and social media comedy which has absolutely exploded in order to rebrand their content.
