The Oregon Health Care Association named Sara Sutherland, Director of Education for Avamere Living Community-Based Care, as Leader of the Year.
In Sutherland’s 19 years with the healthcare company, she has served as a business office manager, executive director, regional director of operations, and today as the Director of Education.
“I’m honored to be chosen for this award and thankful to my incredible team members and leaders for their guidance, enthusiasm for their job, and continued drive for excellence,” Sutherland stated.
She was nominated by her previous Avamere at Sherwood team.
“Avamere at Sherwood will always have a special place in my heart,” Sutherland shared, as that was the first community she led as an executive director.
According to the OHCA, their award recipients demonstrate a commitment to quality care through their dedication to residents, staff, and the community-based care profession.
Sutherland earned an OHCA award alongside two other Avamere employees:
- Hannah Johnson, Life Enrichment Director with Avamere at Seaside, Enrichment of Life Award
- Sara Sutherland, Director of Education for Avamere Living Community-Based Care, Leader of the Year
Their achievements exemplify one of Avamere’s core values: quality that is obvious.
Johnson, Sutherland, and Perry will be recognized at the Annual Convention on November 10, 2021, in Portland, Oregon.
