The Quiet Battles We Fight

Her Educational Background

Her journey to acting stardom did not come without its fair share of dedication and tenacity. After graduating from the Caremoli Studio Academy in Milan after an intensive two-year program, Tullia was trained by some of the industry’s best. Her education under director Andrea Castoldi, “Rai” Radio Speaker Ermanna Mandelli, and award-winning actress Sara Ricci gave her the crucial tools to navigate the complex world of acting. It was an enriching and enlightening experience that would solidify the foundations of her future success.

In pursuit of higher education and a wider understanding of her craft, Tullia decided to cross the Atlantic and attend the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles, California. Here, she dove into a BFA in Acting for Film, graduating Cum Laude – a testimony to her dedication and passion for acting. Her thirst for knowledge led her to learn from the best, notably training with Emmy Award-Winning television producers Michael Laibson and George McGrath. Their guidance and mentorship in Acting for Television, Voice-Over, and Sketch Comedy further diversified her skill set, helping her navigate the varied acting terrains.

Tullia’s training did not stop there. Her skills span across classical theatre, improvisation, the Meisner technique, voice-over, and combat for film. Each of these skills allowed her to build a range of characters and deliver captivating performances on screen and stage. Coupled with her innate talents for singing, playing the piano, painting, horse riding, skating, swimming, and diving, Tullia is not only a versatile actor but a multitalented artist who can adapt to any role.

Tullia’s Performance in Acting Throughout The Years

Tullia’s stellar performances have garnered recognition in numerous productions. Her lead role in the short film “The Trip,” directed by Bongiwe Kopolo, earned a spot in the Kino Film Festival in 2023. Another notable performance was in “Gone,” a short film by Gabriela Weber. The film was a finalist in the Film Boxe International Monthly Film Festival, an achievement that showcases Tullia’s ability to resonate with the audience and judges alike.

Her role in the thesis project short “Frenemies,” directed by Magdalene Morton, also earned a spot in the Short Shot Film Fest. This accomplishment added another feather to her cap, confirming her versatility and adaptability as an actress. In “Family Oriented,” a short film by Carlee Wyman, Tullia’s compelling performance led the film to the quarter-finals at the Helsingborg Film Festival.

Her acting prowess is not limited to film. She also explored the world of web series with “Journeys” and “Pacific Breeze” for Cineplex Studios. Both series were showcased on Cineplex+, demonstrating her ability to adapt to the pace and demands of episodic storytelling. Furthermore, her performance in the original play “Parliament” at the Whitmore Theatre in North Hollywood reveals her ability to master the live, immediate connection required of stage acting.

They both bring a fervor and enthusiasm that captivates the viewer, drawing them into the story being told. Tullia, as the lead actress, is particularly notable, with her captivating performance being a true testament to her craft.

Tullia Ferraro’s strength lies in her ability to fully inhabit her characters and breathe life into them in an authentic and real way. In “Gone,” she does just that. As an actress, she communicates with her audience through her performances, making them feel every emotion her character experiences. Another standout performance is her portrayal of Maria in the short film “Frenemies.” This beautifully balanced narrative of adventure, tension, and drama is elevated by Tullia’s acting prowess, proving once again that she is a force to be reckoned with in the world of acting.

Written and directed by Magdalene Morton, “Frenemies” presents a poignant narrative of two best friends navigating life’s complexities and reuniting after drifting apart. The story centers around a semi-traumatic experience that triggers a reconnection between the two friends. As Maria, Tullia’s character, embodies a unique blend of a free spirit grappling with the fallout of her parents’ divorce.

Tullia’s nuanced portrayal of Maria is a testament to her ability to fully inhabit her roles. Her formative years at the Caremoli Studio Academy in Milan, Italy, introduced her to the artistry of acting. Following a two-year intensive program, Tullia emerged with a honed skill set, enriched by learning from professionals of the industry. Emmy Award-Winner Michael Laibson imparted invaluable knowledge and practical insights among them. This foundation has proved instrumental in Tullia’s journey, guiding her to deliver her best in every role she undertakes.

The film’s recent nomination for the Short Shot Fest is a testament to the combined efforts of the cast and crew, as well as director Magdalene Morton. Tullia, ever humble, attributes this achievement to a group effort and expresses her delight at this recognition, which reflects positively on everyone involved in the project.
