Born and raised in Mumbai, Harshada Pathare is a young Indian author determined to redefine the status quo with her creativity.
For artists, places of quiet desolation, and vast emptiness act as a creative lab to catalyze creative ideas and inspire them to look in and out.
For an artist, there is no address or permanent location; they follow the
coordinates of the heart like a lamp. And Harshada also loves to incorporate ideas from the rocks of the ground. This is why her writings are so raw, honest and achieve startling depth and brilliance.
Many artists cite the role of creative labs as a place to hone and deepen their voices. Founded on the notions of creativity and solidarity, this is the sanctuary for self-meditation and creative exploration. Even, Harshada elucidates the importance of creative space as it feeds her mind with energy and spark.
“When I am in my creative lab, it feels like the edge of infinity. The process of creativity unfolds on its own as silence and space sweep out all the personal confrontations that hold me back. It’s like you take up a space and transform it into your secret universe, and then onwards, the universe continues to live on.”
The greatest challenge for Harshada is to alter the perspective of universally-felt emotions, the way we think, introspect and rationalize our findings. She has written insightful articles leveraging design thinking skills to express the ephemeralness of what seems fixed to us, like society, stereotypes, and the status quo.
Particularly, inspired by design thinking and creative elements, Harshada recalls, “It was straining to process a lot of dark things happening around in the society. I found imagination was the only way to recreate an optimistic environment around me.”

Life in a middle-class ecosystem is flattened by following the social norms to be accepted. Most Asian women have thrived in fractures and recompositions for not having the courage to become a non-conformist.
Feeling literally; soaked up and dried out in a controlled environment, Harshada didn’t want to die a desert creature’s death. She leveraged creativity to make life more adaptable. Whenever she felt the influx of incoming, art taught her to put up fence.
Since I was little, a voice in my head inspired me to redefine the status quo, to be curious, and seek answers to unspoken questions. Perhaps, this unique trait geared the trajectory that didn’t allow me to settle down as a commoner.
Creativity is the forceful wind that propels my mind to travel here and forth by recreating and subverting concepts into ideas.
“Your work should be such that it represents the reader in totality. The readers should feel the character in depth. It not only influences but also transforms the shared experiences into enriching insights.”
A strong progress is evolving in Asian countries that interweaves personal freedom, modern identity, and self-expression. But still, there is so much space on the flat landscape; if you are on the prowl, only then; can you hear the rain.
