Best Websites for Hiring in the Maritime Industry

MaritimeZone

MaritimeZone is the #1 choice for seafarers looking for work and employers for many reasons:

  • Maritimezone is a world-renowned company that produces high-quality products for the maritime industry. It supports many innovative projects, including a job search website for seamen.
  • The website has a huge database of current vacancies. Every day, users have a choice of more than 2,500 open job positions.
  • More than 1,568 companies engaged in recruiting seafarers are registered on the website.
  • The user resume database contains over 213,571 CVs. That is why many employers come here to find the best talent in the maritime industry.
  • The website does not profit from job search assistance services, so almost all services are free for seafarers and crewing companies/ship owners.
  • MaritimeZone platform contains useful information that will help users make a correct decision when applying for a job.
  • The website offers convenient tools for monitoring the effectiveness of your resume, templates for building it, and many other important features.

Maritime-Union

Best Maritime Hiring Websites in 2025
Maritime-Union

Maritime-Union is one of the largest portals where seafarers looking for work meet with crewing companies or shipowners. The website’s database contains more than 360,000 resumes and 5,800 employers. However, this site cannot get to the first place in our rating due to its high commercialization:

  • Seafarers can create free applications, but all other services are blocked. They cannot access hot vacancies and maritime companies, directly contact the employer, and much more. You need to pay for one of two premium tariff plans to unblock access.
  • Employers can also create and fill their accounts with detailed information for free. However, their ability to post vacancies is limited to 2 per day. They can access only 5 job seeker contacts per day, which is limited when the site offers resumes of thousands of job seekers. The premium subscription does not have such restrictions, so most crewing companies or ship owners choose this option.

Crewing Guide

Best Maritime Hiring Websites in 2025
Crewing Guide

The Crewing Guide has a smaller coverage of employers and seafarers, but it does have useful sections that other websites don’t offer:

  • Number of job seekers’ CVs: 62,145
  • Vacancies: 1,397
  • Employers: 1,480

The website has an extensive Training Centers for Seafarers section. Here, users can find over 60 centers to improve their professional knowledge. So, if you’re missing a skill to get your dream job, you can find out where to learn it. Basic services are free for job seekers, but advanced features require payment. Employers have to pay for almost everything.

The Bottom Line

Using the services of maritime hiring websites, you can find unique job opportunities anywhere in the world. The maritime industry is unique in its internationality and high level of globalization. Therefore, regardless of your citizenship, you can use and benefit from any of these websites. By receiving notifications about new vacancies in your email, you will always be aware of opening opportunities. In this way, 2025 may bring favorable changes and open up new career prospects in the maritime industry.
