NFTs (non-fungible tokens) have a massive trend in 2021, even though they have been around since 2014. The NFT space, like most other societal domains, is not necessarily known for its inclusion and diversity. That’s especially true when it comes to LGBTQ+ individuals and artists being represented.
However, as everyone approaches Pride Month, artists are taking center stage. In Japan, MetaSamurai by Web3 Creative Studio 1BLOCK and global fashion company COACH will collaborate on a program to celebrate Pride month. MetaSamurai will be Japan’s First! 3D NFT project.
The month of June is committed to LGBTQI+ pride events in many countries, including Japan. For the opportunity, many NFT collections are paying honor to a collection of pride icons to raise funds for companies battling for the rights of gay, lesbian, transgender, gay, and intersex people.
The newest campaign has a motto of “Go all out for pride” to support the LGBTQIA+ community. The special edition NFT launch is part of a month of programming in Japan.
The said campaign was inspired by the self-expression and inclusivity of COACH. MetaSamuria is a genderless avatar project that will increase the diversity of love in every dimension. It also strives to celebrate spaces and communities where one can be their authentic selves aligned with the house’s campaign.
MetaSamuria is a collection of 8,888 unique NFT inspired by the mangas and samurai universes. Anyone can mint, collect, and enroll them in Japan metaverse that they are creating. They have different properties that are difficult to drop, such as eye color, mask, and weapons. Other properties will offer you access to unique privileges like a $100,000 giveaway.
Coach is one of the biggest fashion brands, established in 1941 in New York City. The brand creates stunning and lovely things that will be cherished for a long time so that everybody can be themselves, inspired by the vision of Creative Director Stuart Vivace and the courageous and inclusive spirit of their hometown in NY.
On the other hand, 1BLOCK’s NFT project with unlimited possibilities. They are composed of creative people based in Tokyo, Japan, and Los Angeles, empowering creators and developing and operating web3 projects.
The potential and possibilities for NFTs are endless. Digital ownership is extremely difficult to trace, particularly when it comes to artwork. However, blockchain technology is making it possible to prove ownership and designate value to digital assets that otherwise could not.
Making NFTs can be one of the ideal ways to learn about entrepreneurship, learn in the community with varied design skills, and invest in cryptocurrency without spending in it directly.
The limited edition of ten MetaSamurai will be exclusively gifted in Japan to celebrate Pride. All entry details will be announced on Jun 17 on Coach’s official Japan website.
The holders of the avatars can use them in COACH’s upcoming launch. The pride-theme event will make a safe space where diverse backgrounds can connect and celebrate their unique identities.
