Over the last few weeks, Pathways Financial Credit Union organized and donated to a collection drive for various items that will be sent to U.S. soldiers serving overseas via the Socks for Soldiers organization, a Columbus-based, nonprofit organization founded by Kim Opperman. This organization not only collects and delivers personal care items for soldiers, but they also have teams that knit pairs of socks to send with their personal care boxes as well.
A generous donation of personal care items for the Socks for Soldiers Drive was presented to Angela Jackson, Assistant Branch Manager of Pathways from Regina Johnson, President of Touching Moments, a nonprofit organization serving underprivileged individuals in Montgomery County. In addition to the substantial donation from Touching Moments, Pathways Financial Credit Union also donated an additional $4,800 in personal care items to the Socks for Soldiers drive.
Alicia Hershberger, Pathways’ Director of Sales and Service, stated, “Everyone in the Pathways family has been excited to be able to donate to Socks for Soldiers. I appreciate all the hard work our team has put in to make this donation drive successful for our deployed soldiers.”
